The Lanes
Scoring highly on the Considerate Constructors Scheme reflects the sensitive approach on a project bounded by a community centre on one side and residential properties on three sides.
The Lanes
Short-listed in the LABC Building Excellence awards “Best Small New Housing Development” The Lanes provides a mixture of 3 and 4-bedroom homes.
The redevelopment is in keeping with its village location complementing the overall character and appearance of the area. The new houses are traditional in form using brick, weather boarding and tile hanging characteristic of the historic buildings in the centre of Ash.
Homes are arranged in a series of short terraces with each property benefiting from a traditional cottage garden and native hedging to the front boundaries. This type of arrangement being historically commonplace in villages around Kent.
Considerate delivery was important on a site bounded by a community centre on one side and residential properties on three other sides. This included an open day for villagers to visit the development and the site team assisting with a village clean up.
Sustainability was integrated throughout with the project complying with Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. Our commitment to minimising waste achieved a recycling rate in excess of 95% with the local Parish Council benefitting from a donation of surplus materials.
The Lanes was also the recipient of a Silver Safety Award in the Construction Safety (South East) Awards.
