High Hurstwood CofE School

Extremely limited site storage and difficult access were overcome during construction of High Hurstwood CofE School.

High Hurstwood CofE School

Sensitively planned works to an existing occupied primary school, phased to avoid disruption to the learning of pupils and teaching of staff at High Hurstwood Church of England School.

The project was facilitated by enabling works which included the demolition of an outdated swimming pool building and existing single storey building which provided inefficient use of the available grounds.

The subsequent extension to High Hurstwood School, included the construction of new assembly hall, classrooms, kitchen, circulation area and installation of lift. While adaptations to the existing buildings included works to the hall and IT room.

To increase biodiversity on site and providing outdoor teaching opportunities a pond was installed within enhanced landscaping. To meet increased demand the existing car park was also updated.
