Each End House

Luxury living benefiting from energy efficiency, water efficiency, low embodied energy and other advantages of sustainable construction.

Each End House

Each End House is a traditionally styled 5-bedroom house in the Kent vernacular style.

The development has provided its owners with a bright, airy and large modern family home with all the benefits of sustainable construction.

The Flemish Bond bricks from the original house were salvaged and re-used within the construction. Reclaimed Kent peg and pantile tiles from the existing house were also reused in the roof, further promoting sustainability.

Energy consumption has been greatly reduced through maximising natural light; low energy light fittings; external lighting with daylight sensors and PIR detectors;  a highly efficient modern combined gas & solar heating system; insulation with high levels of thermal performance; wood burning stoves and underfloor heating.

A healthy, comfortable building with a low impact on the environment was achieved through the consideration of materials. Measures included use of materials with low embodied energy; use of materials from sustainable and recycled sources; no oil based products and the ability to re-use materials at the end of the building’s life.
