Christian Community Chapel
Excellence in Structural Engineering Award Winner delivered using Structural Insulated Panels.
Christian Community Chapel
Winner of an Excellence in Structural Engineering Award from the Institute of Structural Engineers.
The Christian Community Chapel project involved the demolition of an existing 2 storey brick extension, works within the existing building and the construction of a new Chapel and Ancillary Rooms, together with external works and drainage.
The highly unconventional chapel was designed using “Steiner” principles, included no right angles and was delivered using Structural Insulated Panels.
Architect Nicholas Pople commented, “The design is very complex and site extremely cramped but Coombs dealt with it in their usual competent way. I would have no hesitation in recommending Coombs for any future building project. I remain impressed by Coombs’ response to challenges and their commitment to the aspirations of client and consultant. The client has referred to the building as being a “jewel”!”
