Chatham Library
Chatham Library is housed in the Community Hub Chatham, Gun Wharf, Chatham.
Our works to this building included specific refurbishment of internal and external areas of Grade 2 Listed Building, part of which is classified as an Ancient Monument.
The library, accessible to all via disabled access and DDA toilet facilities, provides Medway residents with a gateway to a variety of services and a place to make face to face enquiries about council and partner offerings.
Our works included a full internal fit out to the library which now hosts the Tottenham Hotspur Opus, a rare archive of previously unpublished collection of memorabilia, photos and material about Spurs, in addition to typical material found in libraries such as books, reference material, graphic novels, CDs and DVDs.
Gun Wharf was originally built as an administrative headquarters for Lloyd’s of London in 1976-78 and designed by Arup Associates, a nationally-important architects firm. In addition to the Chatham Library, Gun Wharf hosts Medway Council acting as its civic headquarters.
