Brampton AEC Phase 2
Apprentices, work experience and local labour were maximised using the same local suppliers that delivered Brampton AEC Phase 1
Brampton AEC Phase 2
Design and Build procurement of a two storey teaching block of masonry construction.
Facilities include classrooms, dance studio and office accommodation linking to the Phase 1 building previously constructed by Coombs.
We added value through employing three trade apprentices during the construction works, involved in carpentry, electrical and mechanical services.
Further benefits were obtained by stakeholder engagement and collaborative working to allow work experience opportunities in liaison with the Adult Education Centre; two placements both from the Bexley area were provided.
London Borough of Bexley and the Brampton Adult Education Centre were both keen to maximize the use of local labour during the construction of this project.
As such the designers, subcontractors and suppliers utilized throughout were predominantly Kent based, as was our workforce. Where appropriate, we engaged with the same local supply chain providers to undertake works as on the Phase 1 scheme to transfer benefits of past experience and knowledge of the prior phase.
